Global jobs search platform Indeed.com has expanded its operations to Nigeria with the launch of ng.indeed.com. In Nigeria, Indeed.com will be competing with the local giant Jobberman to target job seekers and recruiters. It is believed that how Indeed.com fairs in Nigeria, Morrocco and Egypt will influence the company’s expansion across Africa.
The company recently announced it recorded over 200 million unique visitors over the past 31 days and has expanded to eight additional markets where job seekers will have access to the most jobs on the web, adding that the expansion is in line with its rapid global growth.
The new markets are Costa Rica, Ecuador, Egypt, Morocco, Nigeria, Panama, Ukraine and Uruguay bringing the total of countries where Indeed.com is operational to be over 60 countries and bringing its total number of employees to over 2,400 globally.
“Indeed continues to expand its global community of job seekers,” said Indeed SVP Paul D’Arcy. “In response to further labor market tightening in 2016, people looking for jobs have more control of their destinies, and many are actively looking for their next position. With over 16 million postings and over 10 million global company reviews, Indeed is uniquely positioned to help job seekers find the job that’s right for them.”
