Ikea again partners with Sonos. The company, whose partnership with Sonos started in 2017, is dedicated to enhance life by creating an atmosphere at home with great design, music and sound.
Its very product with the sound company is the Symfonisk series table lamp and bookshelf, both having with Wi-Fi speakers. The Symfonisk range of products from Ikea and Sonos includes a traditional speaker and a hybrid speaker-lamp. Both are shown in the picture below;
This time, the two companies are planning to revamp the Symfonisk table lamp speaker. They gave this announcement as stories on their Instagram accounts.
Both companies have filed an agreement documented in the Federal Communication Commission. Details of this agreement confirm that the new product will be named “Ikea FHO-E1913”.
The newly revamped product will be a wireless device, and about the same price ($179) as the original product.
Though the product image seems to be hidden in the FCC filing, it will possibly take the shape of a cube. Rumours also suggest that it is a smaller model of the Symfonisk Table Lamp.
Hitherto, Symfonisk designs come with a dual purpose. The lamp comes with a speaker and lightning source. The speaker attached to the bookshelf can also be used as a shelf when after the installation. The purpose is to blend the home decorations.
Both companies are yet to disclose the exact product. However, Sonos is looking to launch its new Sonos Roam in the nearest future. This product will start shipping on April 20th.
