Finally LG Electronics has unveiled the LG V30 smartphone at the ongoing IFA 2017 in Berlin.
The LG V30 is the South Korean’s company attempt to break into the premium android market currently dominated by Samsung. Some people are already comparing the LG V30 to the Samsung Note 8 that was just released launched by Samsung. Maybe this is why Samsung chose to launch the Note 8 ahead of the IFA event.
The LG V30 is a 6-inch smartphone with an 18:9 aspect ration and 2,880 x 1,440 resolution. It boasts of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip, 4GB of RAM, 64GB or 128GB of storage with microSD card expansion, and a sealed 3,300 mAh battery.
It is IP68 water and dust-resistant, supports Quick Charging 3.0 via USB-C, and comes with built-in wireless charging.
LG claims that the V30 features many industry innovations – the first F1.6 aperture camera lens, the first glass Crystal Clear Lens, the first OLED FullVision display, Cine Video mode for producing movie-quality videos, premium sound with advanced Hi-Fi Quad DAC, sound tuning by B&O PLAY, and Voice Recognition. The V30 sets a new standard in the evolution of premium smartphones.
Talking about the camera, the phone has two rear cameras – the first camera is 16MP while the second is an upgraded 13MP wide angle lens. The front camera is 5MP Wide Angle (F2.2 / 90°)
By the way, its ships with the Android Nougat 7.1.2 Nougat.

The LG V30 has taken security to another level with four different options – face recognition which unlocks using the front facing camera and without pressing any buttons even when the phone’s display is off; voice recognition which uses a combination of the user’s voice and user-defined keywords (optimally three to five syllables); the reliable Fingerprint Sensor which resides on the rear of the phone and Knock Code which allows tapping a pattern on the screen.
The LG V30 will be available in four different colour schemes, including Aurora Black, Cloud Silver, Moroccan Blue and Lavender Violet.
The phone is expected to hit the market later in mid-September in Korea with a North American and European release shortly afterwards.
Maybe we should follow up soon with a post comparing the LG V30 and the Samsung Note 8. Watch out!
