Sony launched a family of Xperia smartphones at the IFA 2017. They are the Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact in its flagship range, and Xperia XA1 Plus in the super mid-range.
Sony Xperia XZ1
Weighing 156g, the Sony Xperia XZ1 comes with a 5.2″ FHD HDR display in a (148 x 73 x 7.4mm) metallic body. It is IP68 water resistant, It has a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on front and back. It has a intuitive fingerprint sensor on the power button though not available in all markets. It has a 4GB RAM and 64GB Universal Flash Storage with up to 265GB SD card support.
It has a rear 19MP camera with f/2.0 aperture while the front camera is a 13MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture and a 22mm wide angle lens.
The Xperia XZ1 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform and has a battery capacity of 2,700 mAh.
The Sony Xperia XZ1 is available in four colours – Moonlit Blue, Venus Pink, Warm Silver, Black.
Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact
Xperia XZ1 Compact is similar to the Xperia XZ1 but smaller in size (129 x 65 x 9.3mm). Unlike the metallic body of the Xperia XZ1, the Compact’s body is made up of a plastic compound. It has a 4.6″ HD display and comes with premium features such as Motion Eye camera, Hi-Res Audio, innovative 3D Creator. The rear camera is a 19MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture while the front camera is a super wide angle 18MP Exmor sensor with f/2.4 aperture and with a 120 degree field-of-view.
Like the Xperia XZ1, the Compact is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform and has a battery capacity of 2,700 mAh.
It has a 4GB RAM and 32GB Universal Flash Storage with up to 265GB SD card support.
It comes in four beautiful colours – Black, White Silver, Horizon Blue and Twilight Pink.
Sony Xperia XA1 Plus
The Sony Xperia XA1 Plus features a rear 23MP camera with a high resolution with a large 1/2.3” Exmor™RS for mobile sensor. It features a bright F2.0 lens to offer stunning high resolution images even in low-light. The front camera sports a 8MP 23mm wide-angle lens front camera to give high quality selfies.
This smartphone has a 5.5” Full HD display and immersive audio performance with Sony technologies. It also features a rounded, sleek design with narrow borders and intuitive fingerprint sensor on the power button.
The Sony Xperia XA1 Plus comes with a 3430mAh battery. Stamina Mode extends the battery lifetime, whilst Qnovo Adaptive Charging technology and Battery Care work together to maintain the long-term health of the battery by monitoring its health and adjusting the charging current accordingly to avoid damage and maximise its lifespan. Quick charging is also supported to give you that boost of hours of power in just minutes of charging.
This smartphone is available in three beautiful colours – Gold, Blue and Black.
Availability
All the Sony Xperia smartphones will be available from Autumn 2017 depending on the countries. No information has been given on the pricing.
By the way, Sony says it will launch these smartphones with Android Oreo.
