Huawei has officially unveiled the Huawei MateBook. The unveiling took place earlier today at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The Huawei MateBook is the company’s first 2-in-1 tablet; it has a detachable keyboard. The 12-inch tablet is 6.9 mm thin and packs in a 2160 by 1440 resolution. Huawei claims its battery will last around 10 hours with regular usage.
The Huawei MateBook is powered by Intel Core M processors (M3, M5, or M7) and is offered with either 4GB or 8GB of RAM, and storage options range from 128GB to 512GB SSDs.
Pricing starts from $699 for the variant with Intel Core m3 processor, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The highest priced variant is priced at $1599 which sports an Intel Core m7 CPU, 8GB of RAM, 512GB of storage.
The MateBook is available in grey and gold and will be available in Asia, Europe, and North America in the coming months.
In addition, Huawei introduced a stylus called the MatePen. This MatePen is one of the most versatile stylus I have ever seen. Apart from operating as a regular stylus, it has a built-in laser pointer for presentations on the rear end. It also has two additional buttons which can be used to go back and forth within a presentation. It also has different levels of pressure which gives you different results in certain apps depending on how hard you press.
