HTC May Port Firefox OS to HTC Devices.

According to @upleaks, HTC developers might be planning on porting Firefox OS to HTC devices but it’s not clear if this is done just for testing purposes, or if it’s a step to production but chances are, this OS may launch with entry-level devices.
Firefox OS isn’t exactly the hottest operating system out there, but Mozilla is definitely committed to making it a thing of the future and is getting attention from hardware manufacturers like Sony, LG, ZTE, Huawei and Alcatel. To a degree, perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised to hear that, apparently, HTC developers are working to port Firefox OS to some (unnamed) HTC devices.

Most Firefox handsets are low-end, cheap devices targeted at first time smart phone users in emerging markets. Last year, HTC started making cheap MediaTek-based Android handsets, in an effort to diversify its line-up. So the company could certainly also try to see how things go with some Firefox smartphones(s).

HTC’s intentions are unknown for now but having another OEM who might probably want to join the Firefox party isn’t a bad idea at all, at least testing the waters of an alternative platform isn’t a bad way of doing business.
