Hseven has launched a startup acceleration program dubbed ‘Disrupt Africa’ that is designed for entrepreneurs in Morroco and African entrepreneurs in the diaspora. The program lasts for six months and offers a seed investment of €150,000 as well as €500,000 and €1.5 million of eventual investment.
Hseven Disrupt Africa targets high-impact startups in their seed and early stages. Additionally, it also seeks to support 2 to 5 startup founders who provide innovative services, products, and business models.
First of all, the program is calling for applications globally, then will select qualified startups during international roadshows in several cities including New York, Montréal, San Francisco, Shanghai, Dubaï, Londres, Amsterdam, Paris, Casablanca.
Selected startups will receive investments in the beginning and at the end of the program, granted through a partnership with the venture capital firm, Azur Partners. They also will get benefit from a funding of other investors, such as the Dutch Good Growth Fund (DGGF) and the Innov-Invest program of the Caisse Centrale de Garantie (CCG), with the support from the World Bank.
Besides the investments, selected startups will also receive strategic advice and expertise, access to networks and capital through Hseven’s partners, including Azur Partners, Fabernovel, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), l’École Centrale, Amazon Web Services, and the top 50 Venture Capital firms that have interests in Africa. Moreover, they will also get access to tailored mentoring with more than 350 Moroccan and international mentors.
