How you can hide your WhatsApp Profile Photo from some of your contacts

WhatsApp recently added a new option to help users choose from to decide who can see their profile photo, about and Last seen status. The new privacy setting will allow users to hide their profile information from specific people.

Up until now, users had three privacy options to choose from to decide who could see their profile photo, about and Last seen status. They could either show their profile picture (or Last seen status) to everyone, make it visible to only their contacts, or hide their information from everyone.

Now, there’s a fourth option titled “My contacts except…” With this new option, you can exclude specific people in your contacts from seeing your profile photo, about and Last seen status.

How to hide your WhatsApp profile photo from specific contacts

    1. Open the WhatsApp settings by tapping the three-dot at the top right corner.
    2. Select ‘Account.’
    3. Tap on ‘Privacy’ to view the current privacy setting
    4. Select ‘Profile Photo.’
    5. Next, Select the ‘My contacts except…’ option, then mark the contacts the profile picture needs to be hidden from.

Since contacts are arranged alphabetically, typing the contact’s name is a better option than scrolling and searching manually. If you want to make your profile picture visible only to a few select contacts, tap on the ‘Select all’ button. This will hide your profile picture from all contacts. You can then unselect the contacts you want to show your profile picture to.

You can apply the same settings to your ‘About’ in the ‘Privacy’ section, which users can see when they view your WhatsApp profile.

It’s worth noting that if you choose to hide your Last seen status from others, you won’t be able to see theirs either.

The new privacy setting is available on both Android and iPhone, and you can access it by navigating to the privacy section in your account settings.

WhatsApp is among the most popular instant-messaging platforms in the world. The service continues to add new features that improve the user experience.

Recently, it launched a multi-device login feature that allows people to use their WhatsApp account on multiple devices, including a smartphone, tablet, and desktop. The service also announced WhatsApp Communities, a feature that will allow users to combine several groups that are related to a topic and manage them together.
