The New Tab Group tool on Microsoft Edge was released this month September following the launch of version 93 of the browser. With it came plenty of other new features, such as the new shopping and vacation planning services.
This feature had been available in Edge browser for a few months as an optional feature that could be enabled manually in the settings, but they are now available to all users. To use the Tab Group feature, hold down Ctrl and left-click all the tabs you want to group together, then right-click and choose “Add tabs to new group.”
Tab groups can be designated and given distinct colours to make them easier to identify, and they can be shrunk to decrease clutter. They are useful for keeping professional and personal tabs distinct, or for simply distinguishing the tabs you’re currently working on from the rest.
Microsoft Edge is the most recent browser to offer tab groups, which are already supported by Google Chrome and Safari.
Along with tab groups, Microsoft is spotlighting a few of additional Edge features that are new this month. These include a product reviews dropdown that may display product reviews and user ratings as you browse for them, as well as a new express checkout option that can instantly enter your payment data and try coupon codes.
Edge will also provide travel advice if it detects that you are buying flights to certain areas in the United States, and it will remember your previously-entered flight choices as you switch between booking sites.
