While CES often feels like an unofficial auto show, the automotive presence at CES 2026 is noticeably toned down. The Afeela electric vehicle—a collaboration between Sony and Honda—will make a return to the show floor, but the overall push for new EVs is muted. This shift comes as the Trump administration has rolled back most electric vehicle incentives, dampening the industry’s enthusiasm for major launches in Las Vegas this year.
That said, CES remains a hotspot for cutting-edge in-cabin technology, and Hyundai is stepping up with some impressive innovations. Among the highlights is Hyundai’s Holographic Windshield Display, a next-generation approach to driver information systems.
Hyundai’s Big CES 2026 Showcase
Hyundai’s Mobis subsidiary will unveil more than 30 mobility convergence technologies during the event. In addition, Hyundai will present its AI Robotics Strategy, featuring the debut of its new Atlas robot, fresh from the lab.
How to Watch

What to Expect from Hyundai at CES 2026
Holographic Windshield Display
This futuristic display is essentially an advanced heads-up system that projects critical driving information directly onto the windshield. Unlike traditional HUDs, Hyundai’s version uses holographic film technology to transform the entire front windshield into an ultra-large display surface. Key features include:
- Vertically expandable 18.1-inch display
- Driver-focused data projection without obstructing visibility
- Passenger entertainment capability—passengers can watch videos without distracting the driver
Developed in collaboration with German optics leader Zeiss, this is the world’s first holographic windshield system. Hyundai plans to begin mass production in 2029, so while it’s not hitting the market soon, it’s a glimpse into the future of automotive UX.
Atlas Robot: Hyundai’s Leap into AI Robotics
Beyond cars, Hyundai will showcase its next-generation Atlas robot, marking a significant step toward commercializing AI-powered robotics. The teaser image suggests a dog-like design, which aligns with Hyundai’s acquisition of Boston Dynamics in 2020. According to Hyundai:
“This next-generation Atlas represents a tangible step toward the commercialization of AI Robotics, highlighting the Group’s commitment to building safe and adaptable robotic co-workers.”
Hyundai’s CES lineup will also include:
- Electronics and chassis system safety innovations
- AR head-up display
- Low-power display solutions
- EV drive systems
