How to Download Media From WhatsApp Status to Your Android Phone

There is more to WhatsApp than simply texting and messaging your friends and family. Currently, there are more exciting features. One of the widely used features is WhatsApp status that is also very trendy nowadays.

But what if you see a really great video or picture on someone’s status? Of course, you can take a screenshot of the image, but what would you do in the case of a video? Here is a guide on how you can download someone else’s WhatsApp status on your Android smartphone.

The only disadvantage to this that if you view a lot of Statuses and do not have enough space on your smartphone, your phone memory will fill up. You may probably end up deleting some of these pictures and videos that have been downloaded.

To download Status, simply follow these steps:

    1. Open File manager app on your phone.

    2. Head to Internal storage > WhatsApp > Media > Statuses.

    3. If you do not find Statuses, simply tap more and click on show hidden files (the message may vary depending on your Android phone).

    4. All hidden files will be shown including Statuses.

    5. Click on Statuses and all the Statuses that you have viewed will be shown in this folder.

    6. Tap on the image or video that you wish to download.

    7. Press and hold on to the chosen media item and save it to your desired location, e.g. camera, downloads, WhatsApp images, etc. You can also share.

It is important for you to note that these steps can differ from one Android device to another. In most cases, you will immediately find the WhatsApp media folder on the screen as soon as you open the File manager.

WhatsApp had previously enabled a new feature where users were able to share their WhatsApp status in the form of Facebook stories.
