How to block toxic people from getting into your Gmail inbox

So, you know how life can get a bit chaotic with emails, right? I mean, between catching up with pals, dealing with work stuff, and keeping track of orders, it’s like a constant email marathon. But hey, not all emails are worth your time, especially those from folks you’d rather not deal with. Lucky for you, Gmail’s got this cool feature that lets you block those unwanted emails and kick ’em to the spam folder.

    Blocking from an Email:

Imagine this: you open Gmail, and there it is—the email from that service you never subscribed to or user who just want you to buy stuff. Click on the three dots (⋮) on the right side of the screen, and immediately select “Block sender.” Confirm your choice by hitting the “Block” button, and that’s all! From now on, their emails will find their way straight to your spam folder, leaving your inbox all neat and tidy.

    Blocking on Your Phone:

Now, if you’re more of a smartphone guru, open the Gmail app and find that ‘pesky’ email. Tap on the three dots (⋮) next to the sender’s name, hit “Block user,” and boom! A gray section below the subject line confirms that you’ve successfully given that sender exit to the spam zone.

Blocking a sender from your Gmail’s settings:

Head over to Gmail on your computer, tap the filter icon in the search bar, and set up your blocking filters. Type in the email address you want to avoid like the plague, click “Create filter,” check the “Delete it” box, and hit “Create filter” again. Now, any emails matching your criteria will vanish without a trace.

    Report Spam Like a Pro:

Blocking is awesome, no doubt about it. But hey, let’s face the truth—sometimes, spam creeps in. No worries, though! If you’re on your computer, open the spam email, hit the three dots (⋮), and choose “Report Spam.” On your phone, open the Gmail app, tap the three dots (⋮), and hit “Report Spam.”

    How To Undo the Block

Now, let’s say you blocked someone in the heat of the moment, and you’ve had a change of heart (we’ve all been there).

    • Open an email from the person you blocked.
    • Look for the “You have blocked [sender]” message and click or tap “Unblock sender.”
    • Just like that! They’re back in your inbox.
    • Check the spam folder for older messages if you want to dig them up.

To unblock a user using Gmail Settings, follow these steps:

    • On your computer, go to Gmail.
    • Click the wheel icon in the top-right corner.
    • Select “See all settings.”
    • Find “Filters and Blocked Addresses.”
    • Delete filters or unblock contacts as you please.

And that’s it! Say goodbye to unwanted vibes, keep your inbox clean, and enjoy your Gmail space.
