Nigeria’s online hotel booking portal Hotels.ng has announced plans to promote citizen participation in the forthcoming general elections. The company is giving one night free in a hotel room for voters who turn out to vote.

The company’s public relations personnel Flora Ori said: “To participate in this competition, members of the public are called upon to post their individual, with friends and couple selfie using #ElectionDaySelfie on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter on the 28th of March and 11th April 2015.”

For a picture to be considered as a likely winning entry it must be very creative. It must be a picture that captures a story in one image. #ElectionDaySelfie and #Hotelsng must be used when a picture is uploaded. The photo must also be taken at the venue where the voters go to cast their ballot.

10 winners with the most dramatic selfie will be selected  and submission of entries will close by 5pm on 28 March.
