What if you are the parents of a seven-year old kid entrepreneur? And this seven-year old earned an estimated $22 million in the last one year playing with toys?

Of course most parents would be so proud that the kid is working for them or is it child labour? But what if the kid is having fun?

Anyways call it whatever you like. According to Forbes, Ryan of Ryan ToysReview YouTube channel earned $22 million in the last one year to be the highest YouTube earner.

Now this kid just posts short videos of himself playing with toys and he has about 17.3 million followers. Since the launch of his main channel in March 2015, Ryan has had over 26 billion views.

Of course, he has help from his parents and twin sisters. According to Forbes’ magazine, in 2016-2017 Ryan was the 8th highest paid YouTube entrepreneur, having brought in $11 million in revenue between 2016 and 2017

Ryan also makes money from his latest mini-mogul move: a line of collectibles and more, now selling at Walmart.

The other nine YouTube earners in the top ten list for 2018 include:

    2. Jake Paul ($21.5 million). He is the younger brother of disgraced Logan (No. 10) and he has earned a career-best income from his thriving merchandise business.

    3. Dude Perfect ($20 million). This is a five-man sports crew (Coby and Cory Cotton, Garrett Hilbert, Cody Jones and Tyler Toney) that specializes in feats of dexterity and intricate trick shots.

    4. Dan TDM ($18.5 million). Daniel Middleton is a British gamer who specializes in Minecraft

    5. Jeffree Star (16 million). Jeffree is a makeup artist who has reinvented himself as a beauty mogul, cofounding Jeffree Star Cosmetics.

    6. Markiplier ($17.5 million). Hawaii-native Markiplier is also a gamer who is on his PS4 nearly all day everyday but also has great brand deals.

    7. Vanoss Gaming ($17 million). Witty Canadian gamer Evan Fong plays mainstream titles like Call of Duty and Assassin’s Creed

    8. Jacksepticeye ($16 million). This channel is owned by Irish foulmouthed, energetic Seán McLoughlin. He is famous for his colorful video-game commentary

    9. PewDiePie ($15.5 million). Felix Kjellberg is a Swedish gamer who has the most followers (72.5 million followers)

    10. Logan Paul ($14.5 million) He is the elder brother of No. 2 (Jake Paul)

With so many video game players, who says playing video games does not pay.

METHODOLOGY OF EARNINGS CALCULATION: All earnings estimates are from June 1, 2017, through June 1, 2018. Figures are pretax; fees for agents, managers and lawyers are not deducted. Earnings estimates are based on data from Captiv8, SocialBlade and Pollstar, as well as interviews with industry insiders.
