HERE was originally unveiled in 2012 as a native iOS app before being removed from Apple’s App Store in December 2013 due to changes on iOS 7 which affected its user experience. Though it was initially an exclusive app to Nokia’s own Windows Phone smartphones before expanding to other platforms.
After launching its HERE mapping app for Android devices back in October 2014 with 4million downloads, Nokia finally relaunches its HERE maps and navigation app for iOS today(March 11th). The app has always been a true Google Maps and Apple Maps competitor.
One of its amazing features is its offline mapping system which allows you to essentially put the entire experience directly on your device for times when you don’t have a data connection and trust me, it is really accurate. The offline mode will even let you search, get directions, and find your own location. Youll also be able to download cities and countries for offline mode out of the 150 or so maps available offline.
As on Android, the iOS app is free to download.
