The Super Bowl is one major events in the American Sporting calendar every year. The 2016 edition will take place this Sunday, 7th February. It is also one of the events that companies take joy in releasing new TV commercials.

The companies are not bothered about the high price tag (a minimum of $5 million per 30 seconds) but are enticed by the audience which is well over 100 million.

This year, which is the Golden Super Bowl – the 50th edition, not many companies want to be left out.

We, at Innovation Village, will be looking at the TV commercials from different industry perspectives.

This post looks at the auto companies and their TV commercials

This commercial features David Bowie’s “Starman” and tells a story about a retired astronaut who has lost his zeal for life. But when his son shows up and hands over the keys to the new 205-mph Audi R8 V10 plus, a rocket ride under the stars stirs newfound life within the Commander.

Hyundai has released 3 of 4 complete ads for this event. The 4th is still being awaited as at the time of the publication

The first one, called “The Chase,” shows off the Elantra’s “talk start” feature. What if you could remotely start your car by simply talking to your smartwatch? The all-new Hyundai Elantra with Blue Link® makes that possible, so when you need to leave in a hurry, even a big hurry, it just may come in handy. The commercial thriller features two hikers who are saved from bears by their Elantra.

Those who defy labels, define themselves.” The campaign, titled “Defy Labels,” features six famous faces including Serena Williams, Abby Wambach, T-Pain, Randy Johnson, Tony Hawk and Harvey Keitel
