Silicon Valley-based accelerator, Y Combinator, just concluded its 30th W20 demo day.
Part of the batch was 13 startups that were Africa-focused or had African founders. They each received $150,000 in funding.
The demo day took place digitally due to the current coronavirus pandemic.
Each of the selected startups participated in the three month accelerator program between January and March.
They have each received US$ 150,000 in seed funding.
The 2020 Y Combinator Cohort comprised more than 200 startups from 32 countries, 13 of which are founded by Africans/Africa-focused.

- CrowdForce – Nigeria: retail-tech solutions developer
- SEND – Nigeria: logistics startup
- Bamboo – Nigeria: online investment brokerage
- Swipe – credit startup
- Termii – business management platform
- Tambua – Kenya: e-health startup
- NUMI – Kenya: retail supply platform
- WorkPay – Kenya: payroll processing startup
- Yassir – Algeria: ride-hailing startup
- Healthlane – Cameroon: e-health startup
- Avion – Ethiopia: drone delivery network
