Hacker Group Anonymous Launches Its First Attack Against ISIS

Anonymous recently declared “total war” on Islamic State (IS) after the terrorist attacks in Paris, and they recently made good that threat by publishing the names and addresses of alleged ISIS recruiters.

In addition to leaking the details of at least five men it claims are recruiters for the terror group, Anonymous has also gone ahead to shut down 5,500 Twitter accounts.

Mirror Online claims to have seen the published names, addresses and phone numbers of men living in countries including Afghanistan, Tunisia and Somalia who are recruiters. The magazine also claims that Anonymous has identified a “high-ranking” recruiter living in Europe, but have not yet published an address.

Anonymous is now said to be compiling a massive list of Twitter accounts and web pages ahead of a large cyber-assault, using a Distributed Denial of Service attack to shut down the websites.

Meanwhile, the Twitter account for Anonymous @GroupAnon, has not made any such declaration and neither has Twitter.
