Zimbabwe-based smartphone maker, Gtel, unveiled its new flagship smartphones at the Holiday Inn in Bulawayo yesterday. They are the Gtel X5 and X5 Plus.

A noticeable feature of these phones is the fact the front cameras have a higher resolution than the rear cameras, thus making it optimal for selfies.

The Gtel X5 is an android 7.0 based smartphone with an awesome 16 MP front camera and 13MP rear camera. It has a 5.5″ FHD display with a 4010 mAh battery. It has a 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM.

The Gtel X5 Plus is also an android Nougat based smartphone with 20 MP  front camera and two rear cameras – 13MP and 5MP. The X5 Plus has a 6.0″ FHD display with a 4550 mAh battery. It has the same storage capacity – 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM.

The X5 will be in the shops on the 31st of June at a recommended retail price of $409 while the X5 Plus will be available on the 31st of July at a cost of $499.

this is eye opening ….im more of a long life battery guy so the 4550mAH would do for me perfectly.i also fell in love with the two camera tactic to increase resolution AND I HAVE GOT TO ADMIT ,,,,,, the selfies taken with this phone are on point. i think the p[rice for the X5 is fair for the functions that it can provide

Correction. Gtel is not a phone maker. I hope we have our own maker one day.

This thread doesn’t seem to have any info on the x5s processing performance. I wonder….. If it this was left out on purpose. Who advertises a new flagship with no performance info……????

the x5 plus is very good phone but what left on Gtel is establishment of different fonts eg like those for Samsung .i hope if you do it you are completely done .you need to improve charging ports to be strong and last longer
