First of all, for those of you who do not know about Project Glass, It all started when Google launched the Project Glass last year (April 2012). Some of us thought it was a futuristic project. This new technology, Project Glass, functions like a smartphone, only in the form of a wearable device that looks like eyeglasses
See the video below to jog your memory.
Google has previously said it is aiming to launch Glass by early 2014, though the company is already pushing out developer editions, priced at $1,500. Pre-orders for Glass took place at Google I/O, where attendees were offered the opportunity to put down $1,500 for early access to headset.
Now Google has re-opened the pre-order program to “creative individuals” via its #ifihadglass page. Google says it is looking for “bold, creative individuals” to join them to be a part of shaping the future of Glass.
All you have to do is tell the search giant what you would do if you had Glass, starting with the hashtag #ifihadglass, using Google+ or Twitter.
Guidelines are as follows:
- Your application must be 50 words or less
- You must include #ifihadglass in your application
- You can include up to 5 photos with your application
- You can include a short video (15 secs max)
- Be sure to follow us on Google+ (+ProjectGlass) or Twitter (@projectglass) so that we can contact you directly
- You must be at least 18 years old and live in the U.S. to apply
- For more details, please see our full Terms and FAQ
Unfortunately, Google is starting off a bit smaller hence it is restricting it to residents of the United States of America.
However, remember you still have to pay $1,500 — despite the selective nature of this new pre-order program, Google isn’t just giving them away.
