More reports are coming in regarding Google’s event next month. And now according to Android Police and 9to5Google, it sounds like the company is set to debut not only their Pixel lineup but also a Nexus branded Hauwei tablet running a hybrid operating system that combines Android and Chrome OS called Andromeda.
Of course, we’re not entirely certain if this device will have the Nexus brand but according to 9to5Google, they claimed they heard this from multiple source so we’ll just have to go with that as of this writing.
And we can also say with some confidence that the device will be one of two devices that Google plans to launch with Andromeda, but let’s be clear—this isn’t yet confirmed but all evidence point to this tablet not be launching with Andromeda, in fact, it will come with Android straight out of the box due to hardware constraints and availability.
Although Andromeda won’t be available publicly, it is said that the tablet will have a “developer preview” version of Andromeda available to those who want to develop for it.
Now let’s head on to the juicy part which is the devices’ specs—it is said to include an Intel M3 or an i5 Core processor, a 32-128GB of storage, 8GB or 16GB of RAM, a fingerprint scanner, two USB-C ports, support for a stylus, stereo speakers, four microphones, backlit keyboard, a glass trackpad with haptic feedback, and a 10 hour battery with an $800 price tag.
