We first heard reports regarding the Pixel Buds Pro’s release a few days ago, and Google has now made it official. The Pixel Buds Pro, which debuted at the Google I/O 2022 event, are the first Google earphones that include active noise cancellation (ANC). Let’s take a closer look at how it compares to the AirPods Pro, Samsung Buds Pro, and more.
Specs & Features of the Pixel Buds Pro
The Pixel Buds Pro’s main feature is Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which is powered by a unique 6-core audio chip and uses Silent Seal to adapt to the user’s ears and suppress noise to its fullest capability. This is combined with “Transparency mode” to allow outside sounds in if necessary. The built-in sensors will also monitor a person’s ear pressure to ensure that no ANC-related pain occurs.
The ear tips are moldable to fit any ear, and the earbuds provide support for a variety of touch controllers. They also have Multipoint connectivity, which allows them to seamlessly switch between associated Bluetooth devices like computers, tablets, televisions, and Android and iOS phones.
The earbuds have bespoke 11mm speaker drivers and a 5-band EQ that adjusts the mids, highs, and lows as the volume is adjusted. Clear speech output is aided with beamforming mics, a voice accelerometer, and a wind-blocking mesh cover.
The Pixel Buds Pro work with Google Assistant and have a listening time of 11 hours and 31 hours with the charging case. Wireless charging is also available for the earbuds. The new Pixel earphones are also water resistant to IPX4, while the casing is water resistant to IPX2.
Availability and Price
The Pixel Buds Pro will be available for pre-order starting July 21, just like the Pixel 6a, and will cost $199.99. The color options for these earphones are Coral, Fog, Charcoal, and Lemongrass.
