Google Photos’ Magic Eraser will now be available to more Pixel phones and Google One subscribers

Google announced that its AI powered Magic Eraser will now be available to more Pixel phones and Google One subscribers on Android and iOS.

The Magic Eraser removes unwanted content from Google Photos images. Magic Eraser can detect unwanted content in your photos, like people in the background, power lines and power poles, and suggest what you might want to remove. Then, you can choose whether to erase them all at once or tap to remove them one by one.

“You can also circle or brush other things you want to erase and Magic Eraser will make them disappear. Plus, Camouflage in Magic Eraser can change the colour of objects in your photo to help them blend in naturally with the rest of the photo — putting the focus on what matters.”

This feature was launched on Google Pixel 6 in 2021 and is now available to the latest Pixel phones and Google One members — on both Android and iOS.

In the same blog post, Google announced other Google Photos features such as enhancing your videos with the HDR effect and new, exclusive collage editor designs.

Hitherto, you could use the HDR effect on photos to help balance dark foregrounds and bright backgrounds. Now the HDR effect also lets you enhance the brightness and contrast across your videos thereby resulting in dramatic, balanced videos.

As for the collage editor, all Google Photos users can now apply Styles to a single photo in the collage editor and secondly, a range of new Styles are coming to the collage editor for Google One members and Pixel users, so you have more designs to choose from when making your collages.
