Google Kenya will launch the Doodle 4 Google 2013 competition to celebrate the country’s 50th anniversary in December. The competition is opened to all Kenyan school students aged between 6 years to 18 years.
The competition will encourage them to create their own doodles, and the theme for the 2013 contest is My Kenya. Past Doodles for Kenya included Kenya Election Day 2013, Kenya Independence Day, and 2010 Doodle 4 Google competition winner.
Doodles are the fun, surprising, and sometimes spontaneous changes that are made to the Google logo to celebrate holidays, anniversaries, and the lives of famous artists, pioneers, and scientists.
In 1998, before the company was even incorporated, the concept of the doodle was born when Google founders +Larry Page and +Sergey Brin played with the corporate logo to indicate their attendance of an event.
