Gmail has launched one of the features that a good proportion of Gmail’s over 900 million users have desired for long – the ability to undo send. Interestingly though, Google has been testing this feature for years.
The feature delays sending an email for five to 30 seconds in case you have second thoughts.
It has been in beta since 2009 as part of Google Labs, a set of features that the public can try out even though Google isn’t quite ready to release them.
Google announced this week that “undo send” has now become an official setting in Gmail. In May, the feature was released with Google’s new version of Inbox.
Users can now choose to hold off sending an email for as long as 30 seconds, but only on the Web. Undo send is not yet available on mobile devices.
Here is how it works… If you already have the feature turned on, it stays on. If not, you can turn it on by going to the “general” tab under “settings.”
