This week, Google introduced Google Wallet without any noise or fanfare. The new Google Wallet Card is a debit card that is tied to a customer’s Google Wallet account and lets you quickly access your Wallet Balance.
With the Google Wallet Card, you can:
- Spend anywhere. Use your Wallet Balance to shop and pay in stores by swiping your card at millions of MasterCard® locations.
- Get cash at ATMs. Withdraw money from your Wallet Balance at ATMs. Some ATM providers may charge you a fee for cash withdrawals.
- Receive instant notifications when you spend money. Get instant notifications right on your phone to help you keep tabs on all of your transactions.
- Be free of annual or monthly fees. You can order the Google Wallet Card for free, and there are no annual or monthly service fees to use the card.
The Google Wallet Card was rumored to arrive earlier this year, but later reports indicated that the project was temporarily shelved.
Google Wallet card is available in the US and can be ordered using the Wallet Android app which is currently being rolled out, or through their web based account. Registered users can expect the card to be delivered to them in 10-12 days.
