The newest project of search giant Google is called the Google “Talking Shoe”. This was revealed at the 2013 SXSW event.
The futuristic experimental talking sneaker is said to be able to literally talk and communicate with its user in a very social way, as it motivates that user and gives feedback while that person is doing certain tasks such as walking, running or exercising.
According to its developer, “by connecting a pair of sneakers to the web, we’re creating unique opportunities between physical objects and digital ad spaces. The Google smart sneaker has a personality that talks back and can connect the wearer’s activity to the web, if the wearer chooses to.”
The upcoming Google Talking Shoe will make use of pressure sensors, an accelerometer, a gyroscope, a Bluetooth, and other off the shelf technologies, according to the report.
Sneaker producers Adidas are involved in the talking sneaker project. No word yet about its price and availability.
