A community-organized conference called Google days Nigeria will hold on June 15 at the National Theatre in Iganmu, Lagos. The conference is used to build an ecosystem of top developers, businesses / decision makers and students from emerging countries. The GBG Lagos aims to bring together entrepreneurs, businessmen, professionals, technology enthusiasts or anyone who is interested in learning more about what the Web offers to businesses
The event in 2013 is organised by the Google Developer Group and the Google Business Group.
The Google Developer Groups (GDGs) are for developers who are interested in Google’s developer technology; everything from the Android, App Engine, and Google Chrome platforms, to product APIs like the Maps API, YouTube API and Google Calendar API.
The GDG can take many forms — from just a few people getting together to watch the latest developer videos, to large gatherings with demos and tech talks, to events like code sprints and hackathons. However, at the core, GDGs are focused on developers and technical content, and the core audience are developers.
Across the world, there are about 333 GDG Groups and 7 of these GDG groups are in Nigeria – GDG Lagos, GDG OAU, GDG Akure, GDG Abuja, GDG Ibadan, GDG UNN and GDG Uyo. The GDG in Nigeria is a community of (and for) developers, designers and tech enthusiasts. The Google Business Group is a global network of professionals interested in learning, share knowledge, exchange experiences and enhance work efficiency through the tools and products offered by Google.
