Google AutoDraw pairs machine learning with artists’ drawing to help you draw fast

Google has just launched a new web-based tool that pairs machine learning with drawings created by talented artists to help you draw. It is called AutoDraw

Say, you want to make your friend a poster… for her birthday. You can go to the AutoDraw site from your phone or computer. And you’d start doodling something that looks like a cake, the AutoDraw suggestion tool then guesses your doodle. It then provides some suggested drawings and you pick a cake you like.
And you can do this with all kinds of drawings.

It works on your phone, computer, or tablet (and it’s free!)

Google says it is an Artificial Intelligence experiment and it partnered with some artists, designers, illustrators and friends to create the original drawings for AutoDraw.

    HAWRAF, Design Studio
    Erin Butner, Designer
    Julia Melograna, Illustrator
    Pei Liew, Designer
    Simone Noronha, Designer
    Tori Hinn, Designer
    Selman Design, Creative Studio

Google is calling on people to submit their own drawings if interested. You can do that here. Google hopes that AutoDraw, its latest A.I. Experiment, will make drawing more accessible and fun for everyone.
