Google has just tweeted about its first foldable smartphone, the Pixel Fold which is targeted to compete against Samsung’s Z Fold series
It is expected that the full specs of the Pixel Fold will be unveiled on the 10th of May, 2023 when the tech giant is having its annual developer conference, Google I/O.
According to internal communications viewed by CNBC, the foldable smartphone will be available sometime in June 2023. CNBC reports that the smartphone has an outside screen that measures 5.8 inches across and opens to reveal a small tablet-sized 7.6-inch screen.
It will probably weigh 10oz (283.5gms), slightly heavier than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, a larger battery and powered by Google’s Tensor G2 chip.
The CNBC report also reports that the phone will cost upward of $1,700 and compete with Samsung’s $1,799 Galaxy Z Fold 4.
