GoMyCode, a Tunisian-based edtech startup has announced its expansion into Morocco, Nigeria, Algeria, Egypt, France, Ivory Coast, and Bahrain venturing into new markets after it secured funding in 2002.

Yahya Bouhlel established the company in 2017. The platform started as a coding school before it expands its scope to provide a variety of training programs for digital and technology jobs. The startup is based on a hybrid model that consists of online and offline learning focusing on data science, artificial intelligence, user experience, web and app development, business intelligence, and video game development.

GoMyCode hosted its first hackerspace a nonprofit workspace community operated in Tunis before it quickly expands to other cities in Tunisia called Sfax, Gabes, Sousse, Nabeul, Gafsa, El Menzah V, and Beja. It has trained more than 10,000 students and established links with 1000 partners in the public and private sectors as well as non-administrative and university associations.

Bouhlel said In October 2020, the startup raised $850,000 in a pre-Series A round from Wamda Capital, Meninx Holding, Anava Seed Fund, and Jasminum Capital.

He said ‘’ We have worked relentlessly to provide every individual from ages seven to sixty the opportunity to get the digital tools and skills to succeed in a digital world that is changing rapidly. We are striving to expand our services across the African continent and the Middle East providing every person our one-of-a-kind learning model. The model is made up of on-site, guided learning, along with our online experience that has gamified and engaging.’’
