Gokada is back on the streets after a 2-week hiatus with Gokada 2.0 initiative.
A couple of days ago, CEO of Gokada, Fahim Saleh said that the ride-hailing company was shutting down operations for two weeks. This was to attend to some operational issues that Fahim experienced while on the streets.
He had said that the company would be back on the streets on the 26th of August with Gokada 2.0 initiative.
Fahim said that Gokada 2.0 initiative would entail the following:
- Brand new bikes – Much better quality and sexy as hell.
- All drivers retrained – We’re closing shop to retrain our drivers in customer service, hygiene, driving, and navigation use.
- Higher safety measures – Maximum speeds, adhering to all traffic laws, new Bluetooth helmets.
- Happier drivers – We’re offering drivers more: maintaining their bikes for free, opening a drivers club, and expanding our health benefits.
The bike-hailing service company held a press conference to intimate users and the public about the new and improved Gokada 2.0. Present at the conference were Fahim Saleh and Ayodeji Akinwunmi.
According to Fahim, the company prided itself with setting the standard in the market for safety and service.
“Hairnets, DOT-certified helmets, extensive training – these are all reasons safety on our bikes has been so consistent and how we were able to convince many to give this new-age bike taxi a shot.”
“As we scale up, what we have now would be the template for what all our future pilots will follow. We took the risk to pause for a moment and improve on that template in order to provide our customers with exceptional service at scale.”
Co-CEO Ayodeji Adewunmi, reassured people that Gokada 2.0 was all about unflinching commitment to customers.
He reiterated the fact that firm believed that it was better to suspend its operations for two weeks so it could retool and revamp for unmatched service delivery and exceptional experience.
“As part of this relaunch, we have also made several upgrades to the management team. I am truly excited about Gokada 2.0.”
Kayode Adegbola, Gokada’s Director of Government Relations, stated that the firm was excited to continue setting the standard in the industry by exceeding all of the regulatory requirements in Nigeria.
He said the firm was also happy to partner government organisations such as the Lagos State Government to help move residents in a faster, more comfortable, safer and responsible means.
It is expected that the customers and Gokada pilots will feel the impact of revamped, rejuvenated Gokada.
