Gloo.ng, a Nigerian ecommerce platform, has introduced a 2-hour money-back guaranteed grocery delivery service. It said it is Nigeria’s first.
Customers can order supermarket goods on the platform and would be delivered at their doorsteps. With this express service, orders can be delivered within two hours.
The express service costs NGN999 and there is a money-back guarantee.
The company said the Gloo.ng 2-Hour Express Grocery Delivery Service allows customers spending NGN4,000 (US$20) or over to place orders before 5pm for guaranteed two-hour delivery, at the cost of NGN999 (US$5).
Speaking on the latest announcement, the Chief executive officer (CEO) Olumide Olusanya told Disrupt Africa Gloo.ng had been built with the goal of knocking the ball out of the park for busy homemakers, with the two-hour delivery service the next phase of its execution.
It is very unique because it is first in class. Nowhere in Nigeria does a busy homemaker have the convenience of ordering grocery items online with a money-back guaranteed two-hour delivery, he said.
Olusanya said the startup was aware of the challenges involved in successfully executing on this new service, and had for now limited it to Lagos Island locations in order to give it the opportunity to fine-tune the service before rolling it out across its coverage areas.
This was the same rollout approach we adopted for our three-year old, award-winning same-day service, he said.
