    GLOMO Awards: Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge wins Best Smartphone for 2016 #MWC17

    Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has been adjudged the Best Smartphone for 2016 at the  GSMA’s Global Mobile Awards (The Glomo Awards) taking place at the ongoing Mobile Word Congress in Barcelona.

    The device beat the following contenders:

    • Apple for Apple iPhone 7 Plus
    • Google for Google Pixel XL
    • Huawei for Huawei P9
    • Motorola for Moto Z

    The GSMA’s Global Mobile Awards (The Glomo Awards) recognize and celebrate all contributions made to the evolving and developing mobile industry.

    The Glomo Awards are judged by world-leading independent experts, analysts, journalists, academics and, in some cases, mobile operator representatives.

    The Samsung S7 series was released on the 11th of March, 2016.  According to Strategy Analytics, the device was the world’s Top selling Android smartphone in the the first half of 2016. The Samsung Galaxy S7 edge model shipped 13.3 million units and accounted for 2 percent share of all Android smartphones shipped worldwide in H1 2016.
