    Ghana’s president launches e-cabinet platform

    John Dramani Mahama, President of Ghana has launched an e-cabinet platform which he described as an information technology mechanism to enhance the work of the cabinet.

    The platform is making it possible for Cabinet papers to be electronically archived with ease of search and retrieval functionalities, and will provide for alert systems on outstanding task and new announcements.

    Also, the implementation of the E-Cabinet platform effectively phases out the manual distribution of documents and embraces technology in the conduct of cabinet business.

    In his remarks at the launching ceremony at the Flagstaff House, President Mahama noted that the introduction of the electronic platform would enhance the efficiency of Cabinet Ministers.

    He said it would also allow for the timely dissemination of information on development agenda and documents.

    He urged Ministers who were not yet fully conversant with the platform to do so, indicating that all announcements and documents would be distributed via the platform from the next Cabinet meeting.
