Future Africa, a prominent venture capital firm with a pan-African focus, has joined forces with CatalyzU, an organization known for identifying, training, and placing top African talent, to introduce the “How to Startup” fellowship. This comprehensive seven-week program is crafted to bolster African entrepreneurs by providing them with the vital skills and insights necessary to establish and grow successful ventures.
The “How to Startup” initiative is targeted at a diverse group of individuals, including current startup founders, those aspiring to become founders, employees of startups, and corporate innovators who are keen to launch and scale innovative projects within the African context.
The fellowship has been meticulously developed by a team comprising some of Africa’s most accomplished founders and venture capitalists. It offers a hands-on, experiential learning approach that transcends the scope of conventional entrepreneurship courses.
Enrollees of the program will have the privilege of learning from industry trailblazers, absorbing practical tactics through live sessions, and examining real-world case studies. These components are specifically designed to cultivate a profound comprehension of the distinct challenges and opportunities that characterize the African startup landscape.
Karl Nchite, the co-founder and CEO of CatalyzU, expressed his enthusiasm about the fellowship, highlighting Africa’s dynamic and burgeoning entrepreneurial scene. He emphasized the fellowship’s commitment to fostering the upcoming wave of African startups by providing immersive, practical learning experiences and facilitating connections with a broad network of industry forerunners. The goal is to arm entrepreneurs with the necessary resources and support to transform their innovative concepts into flourishing enterprises.
After successfully completing the fellowship, participants will be inducted into the Young African Catalyst network, which is CatalyzU’s Alumni Network. This network is a dynamic consortium of over 200 distinguished founders and venture capitalists spread across the continent. It offers continuous support and opportunities for collaboration, ensuring that graduates of the program remain engaged and supported throughout their entrepreneurial journey.
