The hashtags #FreePastorEvan, #ShutDownZim are trending as Twitter as calls are mounting for the release of Pastor Evan who was apparently arrested for “inciting public violence and disturbing peace”
Pastor Evan Mawarire is one of the proponents of the “Shut Down Zimbabwe” movement requesting for a change in Zimbabwe. He led a recent boycott from work last week in solidarity for a better Zimbabwe. Most Zimbabweans did not go to work last week Wednesday.
There was another planned boycott this Wednesday 13th July and Thursday 14th July. So it seems this might not hold as he is not available to lead this boycott.
