Police officers in Kenya can now enjoy free internet access provided by major telecoms company Airtel.

According to the network, it has connected Kakamega Police County Headquarters to the Internet for free. In a statement, the company said the internet access will allow police officers at the station to be able to access relevant online platforms to interact, receive and share information related to security with security agents and members of the public in the county.

Airtel Kenya CEO Adil El Youssefi said; “Airtel recognises that communication is very crucial when it comes to security. Access to reliable communication will open up superior channels of communication, giving the police officers an opportunity to take security control to a whole new level.”

Kakamega County Commander Rems Manegene Warui said; “We are grateful to Airtel for the free internet connection as it will go a long way in ensuring that security is enhanced through a fast and reliable means of communication. Our officers will now be proactive in keeping up with security content and updates that will enable us serve the community better.”
