African payments giant, Flutterwave has announced a strategic partnership with Audiomack to provide premium music experiences and unlock new features for its customers and artists for a fee.
By joining forces, Flutterwave and Audiomack are equipping African artists with advanced monetization capabilities. Leveraging Flutterwave’s expertise in secure and dependable payment processing, Audiomack will offer African musicians increased opportunities to monetize their artistic endeavors. This collaboration includes the provision of seamless payment options for fans who wish to directly support their favorite artists.
Founded in 2012 by Dave Macli, David Ponte, and Brian Zisook, Audiomack provides a means for artists to freely share their mixtapes, songs, and albums. In November 2020, Audiomack entered into a music licensing agreement with Warner Music Group. This agreement encompassed the United States, Canada, Jamaica, as well as five important African territories, namely Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, and Tanzania.
In December 2020, Audiomack made its monetization program, AMP, accessible to all eligible creators located in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Later, in July 2021, Audiomack expanded the program globally, allowing creators from around the world to participate. Additionally, Audiomack forged a partnership with Ziiki Media, aiming to assist in promoting artists across Africa.
With Audiomack’s expansion into Africa, the partnership with Flutterwave introduces seamless and secure payment processing features for its users. This collaboration empowers Audiomack to provide a wider range of payment methods tailored to African users, including bank transfers, local cards, and mobile money. As a result, the platform becomes more accessible to a larger audience throughout the continent, facilitating its growth phase in Africa.
