Flutterwave and Payful Partner to Simplify Payments Across Africa

Flutterwave, Africa’s leading payments technology company, has announced a strategic partnership with Payful, a global payments provider, to simplify and modernize high-value transactions across the continent.

The collaboration allows Payful’s merchants to collect local payments and settle globally through Flutterwave’s unified infrastructure, creating a faster, more secure, and cost-efficient solution for cross-border business.

Payful, which specializes in enabling seamless global payments, is expanding its operations into Africa — a region where fragmented financial systems, high transaction costs, and complex regulations often hinder large-scale payments. By integrating Flutterwave’s API, Payful can now offer its merchants the same streamlined experience they enjoy in other regions, without the burden of managing multiple banking relationships or compliance barriers.

At the core of the partnership is Flutterwave’s Virtual Account solution, which simplifies the collection of high-value payments. Through an API integration, Flutterwave issues virtual accounts to Payful, enabling merchants to receive payments through local bank transfers — an approach that is more reliable and affordable than card-based systems. Customers can transfer funds directly to their designated virtual accounts, while Flutterwave manages the settlement process through its network of regulated financial institutions.

The integration also ensures full regulatory compliance. Flutterwave’s licenses across its operating markets allow Payful to confidently process payments within local frameworks, providing merchants with both security and transparency.

Commenting on the partnership, Flutterwave reaffirmed its commitment to powering global enterprises expanding into Africa. The company said the partnership demonstrates its mission to bridge infrastructure gaps and enable businesses to transact seamlessly across borders.

By joining forces, Flutterwave and Payful are addressing one of Africa’s long-standing financial challenges — the complexity of high-value and cross-border payments. The partnership not only simplifies transactions for existing businesses but also paves the way for more global enterprises to tap into Africa’s fast-growing digital economy.

As Flutterwave continues to strengthen its position as a leading pan-African payments provider, this collaboration underscores the company’s broader goal of building a more connected, inclusive global payments ecosystem — one where African merchants and international businesses can exchange value effortlessly and confidently.
