First Leak of Google Pixel 7 Series Revealed

A lot of people like Google’s Pixel 6 series because it has a new Tensor chip, a new design, and a lot more. As we are in the second month of 2022, we are getting more information about the next-generation Pixel phones, the Pixel 7 series for the first time. Here is a look at what we can expect.

Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro First Leak

According to 9to5Google, the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will most likely be powered by Google’s second-generation Tensor processor. It has been identified with the model number “GS201” and the internal codename “Cloudripper,” which was expected. This is not surprising, as we would have expected Google to adopt a new SoC for its flagship phones in 2022.

The fresh information this time is that the chipset may employ an undisclosed modem from Samsung with the model number “g5300b.” This could be the Exynos 5300 Modem, which would replace the old Exynos 5123 Modem, which was utilized with the original Tensor chip. However, given that the modem has not yet been released, it is important noting that details about it are unknown.

Additionally, we now know the codenames for the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, which are “Cheetah” and “Panther,” respectively. These were discovered with “Cloudripper” in the source code, and we can only guess these are the future Pixel phones equipped with Google’s next-generation processor.

This codenaming scheme appears to be somewhat startling at the moment. That’s because Google has always used fish-related ones and has just recently switched to avian ones with the Pixel 6 and future Pixel 6a phones. Now that it has reverted to feline-derived codenames, this could be Google’s new method of switching codenames when a chip is involved.

A third Google gadget codenamed “Ravenclaw” was also discovered among the Tensor 2’s (for the time being, let us assume that what it is called). We do not know which gadget it is, but the 9to5Google story suggests that it could be a mashup device that was also discovered during Google’s Tensor chip testing on the Pixel 5 phones.

Because these are preliminary details, it is prudent to take them with a grain of salt and wait for more to emerge. We will keep you updated on this. As a result, stay tuned.
