    B2B startup Fincra, which focuses on payment infrastructure that enables remittance companies to facilitate cross-border transactions, has announced the appointment of Emmanuel Babalola as its new Chief Commercial and Growth Officer. This strategic move coincides with Fincra’s transition into a transformative phase of its business operations.

    Prior to joining Fincra, Babalola served as the CEO of Bundle, a social payments application for cash and cryptocurrency. Bundle made headlines in July 2023 when it decided to shut down its exchange services to concentrate on Cashlink, its peer-to-peer platform. Additionally, Babalola held the position of Director for Africa at Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, where he played a pivotal role in expanding the platform’s reach across the continent.

    Wole Ayodele, CEO of Fincra, stated;

    Emmanuel’s proven track record in scaling platforms, driving innovation, and advocating for financial inclusion aligns seamlessly with our mission to create seamless payment rails for Africa. His leadership will be crucial as we continue to push boundaries and redefine the payments landscape across the continent.

    Founded in 2021, Fincra provides APIs that enable fintech companies to develop and scale cross-border payment solutions. Since its inception, the company has processed over $10 billion in transactions, serving a diverse clientele that includes notable companies such as Lemfi, OneLiquidity, and Cleva. In addition to its cross-border capabilities, Fincra offers an API designed to assist Nigerian businesses with local payment collection, facilitating transactions through both bank transfers and card payments.

    The company operates in several regions, including Ghana, South Africa, Kenya, Uganda, the United Kingdom, Europe, and North America, with plans to expand into the Francophone region.

    Emmanuel Babalola remarked upon his appointment;

    Africa’s financial ecosystem is evolving rapidly, and Fincra is at the forefront of building the payment infrastructure that will power the next generation of businesses and entrepreneurs. My mission has always been to enable freedom and prosperity for Africa through technology, and joining Fincra presents an exciting opportunity to amplify this vision.
