Figma has announced a strategic partnership with Google that will bring Gemini AI models directly into its design platform, further strengthening its AI-powered design capabilities.
The collaboration adds Gemini 2.5 Flash, Gemini 2.0, and Imagen 4 to Figma’s creative suite — giving product designers and developers access to advanced image generation and editing features. The move, according to Figma, is aimed at meeting the “evolving needs” of design teams and improving workflow efficiency across its 13 million monthly active users.
Gemini 2.5 Flash, in particular, will power Figma’s AI image generation process, allowing users to create and edit visuals with simple text prompts. Early tests showed a 50% reduction in latency for Figma’s Make Image feature, a result that signals faster and smoother user experiences.
This partnership marks another significant step in the race among leading AI developers to integrate their models into widely used platforms. Earlier this week, OpenAI introduced app integrations within ChatGPT, allowing users to interact with services like Spotify, Canva, Booking.com, Coursera, and even Figma itself — indicating that Figma’s new deal with Google is not an exclusive one.
The announcement also coincides with Google’s unveiling of Gemini Enterprise, a conversational AI platform designed to bring generative AI into business workflows. The solution enables enterprise customers to interact with company data, applications, and documents, or build and deploy AI agents for custom use cases.
Google noted that 65% of Google Cloud customers already use its AI tools — positioning the company’s ecosystem as one of the most integrated in enterprise AI. Alongside Figma, new partners include GAP, Klarna, Mercedes, Virgin Voyages, and Deutsche Telekom, among others.
As AI adoption accelerates across industries, collaborations like Figma’s partnership with Google highlight a broader shift — where design, creativity, and productivity increasingly converge under the influence of advanced generative models.
