The Startups Without Borders summit is gearing up for its fifth annual event, scheduled to take place on the 10th and 11th of May in Egypt’s capital, Cairo. This year’s summit will be hosted at Kamelizer Spaces, located in the modern District 5 area. The event is poised to adopt the inspiring theme “Break Borders, Build Global Horizons,” and aims to gather a diverse group of 3,000 innovators from across the globe, as well as prominent figures from the tech industry.

The two-day summit will be a melting pot of ideas and discussions, featuring an impressive lineup of speakers and investors hailing from various corners of the world, including the UK, Japan, the US, Senegal, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. Notable participants such as Ibrahim Sagna, Sadaharu Seiku, and Michael Lints will be in attendance. The content of the summit is designed to empower entrepreneurs to expand their business visions beyond local markets and to think and operate on a global scale.

Valentina Primo, the founder and CEO of Startups Without Borders, shared her insights on the significance of the event, especially in light of the challenging times faced by the region. She emphasized the organization’s six-year journey through cities in the MENA region and Europe, with a steadfast commitment to fostering a transnational ecosystem that supports entrepreneurs regardless of their origin.

Primo expressed her conviction that the current year, despite its difficulties, presents an opportune moment to unite and harness the entrepreneurial spirit that transforms crises into opportunities. The summit’s goal is to facilitate cross-border collaboration by bringing together startup delegations and investors from diverse locations, ranging from Italy to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, to ignite the limitless potential of international cooperation.

A highlight of the summit is the introduction of the AI Salon, an innovative event format making its debut in the Middle East. This new segment is being launched in collaboration with the US-based venture capital firm Blitzscaling Ventures. The AI Salon promises to be a unique platform for discussing and exploring the latest advancements in artificial intelligence.

In addition to insightful talks and panel discussions featuring all-star speakers, the summit will also feature the Investor Room. This exclusive space hosted 460 meetings between startups and investors in the previous year, 2023. The Investor Room is a dynamic environment where startups are carefully matched with investors based on industry relevance, geographical considerations, and investment size.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage in one-on-one meetings with investors from leading global venture capital firms and investment entities, providing a critical networking opportunity for startups looking to scale their operations and secure funding.
