As SMEs are critical to economic growth and development in South Africa, FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp., and the world’s largest express transportation company have launched its web-based account registration platform in South Africa. FedEx’s new platform aims to serve as a driver in promoting local businesses as it connects them with a wider net of customers.
Kami Viswanathan, marketing vice president at FedEx Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa (AMEA) region explains that the new platform aims to simplify the logistics process for local SMEs.
“We are excited to launch the online account registration platform in South Africa which simplifies shipping and logistics for SMEs and individual customers. The platform allows them to create a shipment request in a few easy steps, which saves time and allows SMEs to focus more on their customers,” said Kami Viswanathan, marketing vice president at FedEx Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa (AMEA) region.
How does it work?
The online platform provides SMEs with instant access to the global FedEx network, enabling business owners to reach more customers. As part of the platform, the Ship More, Save More programme enables SMEs to receive discounts when they ship items off to customers.
By registering on the platform SMEs will be able to ship their products to consumers and earn discounts through doing so, allowing business owners to cut costs and save on logistics expenses.
Users can simply register on FedEx and click on the ‘Ship More Save More’ banner, and ship immediately once all the registration requirements are met.
Customers who create their account and ship using the FedEx online account registration platform will automatically receive a discount after the first three months.
