Earlier today, Facebook went down for what it is the second time this week. As early as 5:30 AM, the social network was said to be inaccessible via desktop, Android app, iOS app, and Windows Mobile app, in certain regions around the world.

An automated message appearred on the website, saying “we are working on it and we’ll get it fixed as soon as we can.” In other parts, it was saying “Service Unavailable.” The company has not released a statement concerning the downtime, however.

The outage sparked outrage on Twitter causing the hashtag #Facebookdown to trend.

Facebook’s app status dashboard showed a “major outage” at 5:35 PM which was resolved an hour later. The service reports its key Facebook Graph API — the core software that apps use to read and write to Facebook — became unavailable at that time
