Just last month, Facebook announced Messenger Platform app for mobile devices, now the company is going web. Seems Facebook is taking the spotlight and there’s probably no slowing down anytime soon.
Facebook has announced a browser-based version of its popular Messenger service. It’s even has its dedicated page at Messenger.com.
Though it does the exact same thing as that on the standard Facebook webpage, which made me curious as to why Facebook feels Messenger needs its own web page, considering the fact that Facebook users can already chat using Messenger from a web browser. Well with Messenger.com, Facebook wants to provide a simple messaging tool, and that’s just it but not to worry, facebook doesn’t have any plans of taking Messenger off from the Facebook page, as it did the Facebook app for mobile.
According to Re/code, a Facebook spokesperson said, Messenger.com is meant to get rid of the distractions that the standard Facebook page can hand out in droves. When visiting Facebook, there’s plenty to look at, including profiles, the News Feed an whatever else.
Well, seems the company is really focusing on Messenger since the release of Messenger platform and also considering the amount of attention it is already getting.
