Expect new foldables at Samsung’s Galaxy UNPACKED 2022 – August 10

Samsung has sent out invites for the next Galaxy UNPACKED 2022 which is taking place on the 10th of August. As can be seen from the invite, we should be expecting Samsung’s latest foldables.

As we await the event, Samsung mobile president TM Roh has put out a blog post supporting the foldables as the phone for the present. According to him, “Samsung Galaxy foldables have changed the way we use mobile devices and helped enable better lifestyles for users worldwide.”

Last year, 70% of Galaxy foldable users turned to the Flip to help them see the world from a different point of view. Flip users love owning a device built for self-expression, whether choosing bold color options for their device or taking pictures in a new way with Flex mode.

It’s a different experience with the Fold. Nearly one out of three Galaxy foldable users last year opted for this ultimate productivity device, which has empowered them to do more through hyper-connected, individual computing. Fold users love the multitasking capability of a screen that doubles in size, so they can be more efficient and get things done faster.

Both foldable users have enthusiastically embraced what we have created. Their response is our biggest motivation to push forward, and that’s why we are committed to this journey of seeking new possibilities for mobile innovation.

This year, we’ve made advancements in every detail and opened the new experiences enabled by these behavior-shifting devices. I am excited to see people discover new ways to do more of the things they love with the new foldable.

He also revealed that almost 10 million foldable smartphones were shipped worldwide last year. That’s an industry increase of more than 300% from 2020, and he predicts this fast-paced growth will continue. “We are reaching the moment where these foldable devices are becoming widespread and staking a bigger claim in the overall smartphone market,” he adds

As anticipated, leaks from Evan Blass and 91mobiles show we should be expecting the Galaxy Z Fold4, Z Flip4, Galaxy Watch5 and Galaxy Buds2 Pro

Here is the first image of the Galaxy Z Fold 4.

According to Evan Blass of Evleaks, we should be expecting the Fold4 in three colours – left to right, phantom black, beige, and graygreen.

As for the Flip4, we should be expecting the phone to come in four colours – L to R, gray, purple, gold, and light blue

Both foldables are said to include the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip.

The leaks show that the Galaxy Watch5 will come in two models –

The more formal — and possibly higher priced of the two models — will be known as the Galaxy Watch5 Pro, and it correlates most closely with last year’s Galaxy Watch4 Classic. Codenamed Project X, it’ll come in either black or gray titanium, and either with or without LTE radios for standalone cellular broadband. The regular Galaxy Watch5, codenamed Heart corresponds to 2021’s standard Watch4

A lot more would be unveiled on the date of the event – August 10. Watch out. The event kicks off at 2PM WAT/9AM ET/6AM PT
