If you or your organization is planning to host an event at next year’s Social Media Week Lagos, well, you have till the end of today to submit your event application according to an email by the organizers.
Next year’s SMWLagos will be the fifth edition. It is still surprising that the first edition was held (and I’ve attended every edition). The 2017 local theme is, “The [new] Language of Technology: The Future of Communication in Africa,” it is expected to explore how technology is creating a “new language” and way of communicating and what this means for the future of communication in Africa.

Here are the pro tips for event submission:
- Take the time to prepare your proposal.
- Draw inspiration from this ‘5 Year Plan,’ which their road map for the #Next5Years.
- Ensure your idea is inline with the 2017 theme.
- Confirm all the details of your event.
- Fill out the submission form in it’s entirety. Incomplete forms will not be considered.
