Mobile telecoms company, Etisalat has announced it now has more than 17 million subscribers on the network in Nigeria. The network which has commenced operations in Nigeria about 5 years ago said 2 million subscribers joined the network in 2013 alone.
Announcing the latest figures in Lagos, Matthew Willsher, Chief Commercial Officer and Acting Chief Executive Officer of Etisalat, said the figures make the network one of the most successful late entrant telecom companies globally.
“We have shown an innate ability to turn challenges into opportunities. With this mindset and our focus on quality, innovation and the customer, we have been able to listen, attract, reward, retain and expand our customer base over the last 12 months,” he said.
The network has also added three new data bundles namely Flex 4 000, Flex 10 000 and flex 20 000, to its Easyflex bouquet.
“The new Easyflex now comes with an exciting data bonus. Customers on any of the new bundles will receive 100% bonus when they purchase any data plan from 1.5GB and above, within the next six months. If they activate at any Etisalat Experience Centre, they will receive two complimentary SIM cards, to share the same data plan on other devices like iPads, smartphones and modems,” Willsher said.
